Maybe it’s due to the fact that nearly every abridged fan would constantly regurgitate the same sentence, “man, sao:abridged is so much better than the og.”. it is a shame that whenever the parody’s brought up, it’s purely to shit on the original. aside from my half assed review, the reason for making this post was to ask this. Sword art online abridge however, is the complete opposite in that sense, it consists of 12 episodes which are around half the length, the strange thing is, despite that shorter time span they have managed to create greater character development and immersion than a full length episode of the original could achieve. Though if i’ll be honest that it definitely has some parts that definitely should have been in og sao as well. like the scene where lisbeth forges kirito’s sword and it’s a whole mini game instead of just hitting the forged metal (though if anything this might be due to an anime oversight which seems really common unfortunately) 3. reply.
